Two academy students, alumnus Tarek Tuma, and Fine Art student Ramez Bakir were involved in the recent Without Words : Emerging Syrian Artists exhibition at the P21 Gallery. There is now a documentary on this exhibition filmed by Thomson Reuters Foundation entitled Syrian artists confront horrors of War.
This documentary follows up on the success of the show as reviewed online by the Guardian.

Big congratulations to Fine Art Certificate student Lena Stadlen won the special V&A prize for her Indian miniature style painting of a Man shopping in Sainsbury’s (below). Lisa won the award as part of the Inspired By… exhibition at the Morley Gallery and said she was “tickled pink” to pick up the prestigious award.
There are 4 Academy students in total featuring in the V&A curated Inspired By… which opened on Monday evening, John Budden, Jane Rist, Lena Stadlen and Naa Merley Okine so well done to all.

Fine Art Diploma Graduate and Deputy Head of Painting Sue Spaull and our Head of Painting Tai-Shan Schierenberg both had work on show at this year’s RP Exhibition at the Mall Galleries. Tutors James Lloyd, Melissa Scott-Miller, Robin-Lee Hall, Anastasia Pollard and Tim Benson were also included.
Fine Art alumnus Arabella Brooke had her portrait sculpture included in The Society of Portrait Sculptors 2014 Exhibition, alongisde work by tutors Marcus Cornish, Hazel Reeves, Mark Richards and Gilbert Whyman.
