Art Academy BA Prize 2020
Sponsored by Hitachi Capital UK
We are delighted to announce the launch of the Art Academy BA Prize 2020, in association with Hitachi Capital UK. The prize will award one scholarship for our BA (Hons) Fine Art, covering all tuition costs* for the duration of the programme.
At Art Academy London, we believe everyone should have access to high-quality art education. That’s why we offer art courses to suit all levels of skill and commitment, and provide bursaries to help students with tuition fees for our BA, Foundation Degree and Fine Art Foundation.
Shortlisted entrants will receive an Art Academy London sketchbook and drawing pack, and will have their work shown in our online gallery.
There is a non-refundable £15 entry fee, which you’ll need to pay when you apply.
*please note, this doesn’t include living costs, material or other costs. Please see the BA webpage to find out more about other costs associated with studying our BA.
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Sunday 26th January 2020.
Can I apply?
We welcome entries from all enthusiastic candidates! To be eligible for the BA Prize 2019, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- You need to have the right to study in the UK for the duration of the programme
- You must be able to commit to studying the BA (Hons) Fine Art full time (3 – 4 tutored days a week, plus at least one further day of independent study, for three years) or part time (2 tutored days per week, plus up to one further day of independent study, for six years) and you must be able to start the BA in September 2020
- You’ll be at least 18 years old when the course starts in September 2020
What’s the shortlisting process?
First, you’ll need to complete the application form below, pay your entry fee and submit up to 3 images of ONE artwork. One of these images must be in context (e.g. a painting hanging on a wall or a sculpture in a room) and you’ll also need to tell us the dimensions. The deadline for entries is 5pm on Sunday 26th January 2020.
We will then shortlist applicants to come in for interview with members of our Academic Team on the week of 2nd February 2020. At the interview, you’ll need to bring a portfolio of work with you; we’ll assess your suitability for our BA, give you a tour of the building and ensure you’re fully informed about the course itself. We’ll be in touch with shortlisted entrants in January 2020 with all the details.
The winner will be announced by our judges on Thursday 20th February 2020.
Who are the judges?
The Prize will be judged by:
Rob Pepper, Principal, Art Academy London
