DAYS: 8

TIMES: 10:30am – 4:30pm

Focus on a different section of the human body each week, looking at bone and muscle structures in particular. You will gain the knowledge that will allow you to question and assess the way you draw the human figure from life and examine your drawings in relation to your understanding of anatomy.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the muscular-skeletal structure of the human body
  • Apply anatomical knowledge to produce anatomically correct drawings from life (observation)
  • Apply structural and tonal drawing skills to convey the complexity of the human body
  • Produce a series of investigative studies that depict each anatomical component in detail
  • Apply safe-working practices at all times.

This course is part of our Elective Skills Workshop series. You will be studying alongside students from our pre-degree and degree programmes.

Intermediate

All attendees must be aged 18 and over.

Our Intermediate courses are suitable for students who have considerable prior knowledge of the taught medium or have completed a Beginners/Beginners + course with the Art Academy. These courses tend to be less structured and instead are tailored to the classes’ needs and the direction they want to advance in. Choose an Intermediate course if you are looking to improve your skills and have more critical discussions around the work you produce.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN MATERIALS.

You are expected to prepare for each class by bringing drawing materials with you. You will need an A4 sketchbook or larger to write and draw diagrams during the morning talk. You will also need tracing paper of the same size. You may also wish to bring a file holder for handouts.

If you do not have your own drawing materials, there is an option to order a Drawing Pack at the time of booking which will be available when you arrive for your first class or posted to you.

You will need to bring your own drawing materials to the class, which you can store at The Art Academy for the duration of the course.
