This week-long course is a wonderful way to develop your drawing and creative skills, taking inspiration from our iconic Bankside location. Throughout the week, you will cover fundamental drawing techniques while exploring London through drawing. With the Tate Modern on our doorstep, you will be inspired by an iconic collection of modern portraits to create your own self-portraits in the studio.

Students will explore a range of themes, including:

  • Expressive drawing
  • Fundamentals of drawing (structure and proportion, measuring and perspective, mark making, and texture)
  • Figures in motion
  • Mixed media drawing
  • Self-portraiture inspired by a visit to Tate Modern
  • Creating a finalised piece

By the end of the course, you will have gained the confidence to work outdoors and build a portfolio of exciting works, from quick sketches to more focused drawings, both inside and outside the studio. This course is suitable for all levels, and the tutor will meet each student’s needs according to their level.

If you enjoy this course, we recommend exploring our other outdoor drawing and painting courses.
