A fun and inspiring four day course for ages 12-16 providing a skills based experience and expert tuition in animation. You will be taught skills in stop motion, 2D drawing for animation and the use of Adobe Creative Suite as an animation tool. The course will be fast, fun and will culminate in a screening of your work to peers and parents. The days will be themed and split into half with the mornings focusing on skills development and the afternoons focusing on making an animation using the skills you have learnt in response to a given theme. You will be encouraged to work in groups and on your own and to challenge and respond to ideas and new skills in an enjoyable and creative space. Please be aware that on Friday the class will finish at 4.30pm.

  • Physical and digital 2D drawing for animation
  • Use of After Effects
  • Shooting techniques and conventions
  • Basic operation of camera
  • Basic editing techniques

This course is suitable for students between the ages of 12 to 16 and is open to all skill levels.

  • Young Artists - Aged 12-16

    Chose this course if you are aged between 12 & 16. This course is open to all skill levels, whether you love art and are looking to advance you artistic skills and creative confidence or are new to the subject and want a bit of an introduction!

Materials are provided however students may also wish to bring in a sketchbook with ideas, drawings, images and photos.

Please bring a USB memory stick to save your work.

Also make sure to bring protective clothing such as an apron or shirt or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

SUJAY NARAYAN

Sujay is a director and animator with an MA from the Royal College of Art. He’s worked on short films, immersive experiences, corporate communication & social stories. He works in both drawn and digital animation techniques.

Please note that London Bridge has two exits, the most direct route is to follow signs to “Borough High Street”.

You are welcome to use our Common Room/ The Barn during break times, where you can prepare hot drinks and/or food.

Students will also be able to use the coffee machine, where free hot water, and paid-for hot drinks are available.

Students are encouraged to bring their own reusable mugs and water bottles where possible.

  • You will need to have paid in full before the first session of your class. Your place is not guaranteed until we have received full payment. Please book early in order to guarantee your place on the course.
  • If you purchased a pack online this will be given to you on the first session of your course upon your arrival. Packs can be purchased on our Materials Page or on the individual course page when you make your booking.
  • Please don’t wear your best clothes as there is always a chance you will get messy. If possible bring an apron or overalls.
  • All artwork MUST be taken home at the end of the course or it will be disposed of. Paintings that need to dry should be collected within a week. For clay sculptures that need hollowing and firing, you will receive a separate email when they can be collected.
  • Please ensure that your mobile phone is switched off or is on silent during the class.
  • Health and Safety Guidelines will be provided to you at the beginning of your class.
  • Sometimes our photographer will pop in to get some images of our classes in progress. We will typically inform you beforehand if photography is taking place during your class; if you do not want to be photographed please let the photographer know!
