Andrew has ten years of experience as a tutor, working in London, Italy and South Africa.

He paints primarily using brushes and knives to apply oil paint to canvas. The subjects he chooses are often isolated objects: a tree, a cup, a face. This helps heighten the sense of our connection and isolation with the world around us. He continuously adds and subtracts paint until a satisfactory outcome is achieved. The conclusion is often only achieved after a period of time away from the work. Andrew works from photographs, life and memory; All, in his opinion are equal, the work’s outcome being all that ultimately matters.

He believes that everything around us is relevant for study. Inspiration, beauty and truth reside in being able to see things anew.
