The Art Academy’s Fine Art Foundation provided me with a layer of confidence across all mediums. After finding out what I personally wanted to pursue the staff and team helped me to fulfill my personal goals and targets. You build a close relationship with your tutors as well as your peers, which helped me meet so many new people and pushed me to where I am today.

During skills components I was learning basic skills as well as complex techniques that I could later use in my own practice. Having access to multiple studios and lectures helped me strive as an artist and I was able to find the niche of work that I liked to create. Plus I was creating in a comfortable, friendly environment surrounded by like minded people.

I found, at the Academy, that geometric form was what I was mainly interested in and I was able to express this through all the facilities at hand, ranging from the sculpture workshop to the print studio. Knowing this I have chosen to study a BA in Architecture at Westminster next year and I feel confident having built a strong array of skills, whereas before, I did not feel quite ready.

I have progressed more in 9 months at The Art Academy than in 6 years studying art at secondary schools and colleges. It truly is a unique place with an excellent array of teaching staff, from technicians to sculpture tutors, everyone is on hand to help you in any and every way. It has opened up an array of opportunities for me, ranging from competitions to meeting professional artists.

I would love to come back to The Academy and do a few short courses during the holidays, you can learn so much in little time, it really is amazing! As well as this, the people you meet have so much in common with one another. By the end of your time here you don’t want it to end! I would highly recommend The Art Academy to anyone considering doing a Foundation course.
