Students will explore various ways of seeing, increasing their understanding and confidence to draw and paint. Topics include linear drawing, tonal drawing, composition, expressive drawing/painting, study of natural forms and personal project. A fun and intensive course that will leave students with the knowledge and inspiration to start their own artworks. Please be aware that on Friday the class finishes at 4.30pm.

Young Artists: Comic Zines
Course Code: SC2204026 Course Dates: Monday - Friday, 21st - 25th August 2023 Tutor: Rachael Ball Days: 5 Times: 10.00am – 5.00pm Experience Level: Ages 14 - 17, All Levels Fee: £365 Location: Art Academy London, 165A Mermaid Court, SE1 1HR £365.00Comic Zines are handmade comics or magazines. Zines allow you to create personal stories and have lots of fun! On this one-week course you will experiment with different ways of imagining and creating stories, exploring a variety of genres. You will learn to draw and develop appealing characters and experiment with comic formats like composition, layouts and text, whilst using different materials. By the end of the week you will have developed a range of skills which will set you up on your career as a comic zine artist! And one with a range of your own unique comic zines!
