Throughout the day the tutor will lead the class in practical demonstrations to help you begin to see shape and tone, and how these elements can relate together to form a composition. We aim to foster self-certainty and an enjoyment of drawing in a relaxed yet stimulating environment. As you work through a series of exercises, you will gain confidence with pencil and charcoal, which will encourage you to further explore the medium. -
One Day Taster: Drawing in Museums – 15th October
Course Code: TAS2301T40 Tutor: Natasha Lien Course Dates: Sunday, 15th October 2023 Days: 1 Times: 10.30am – 4.30pm Experience Level: Beginner Fee: £105 Location: Art Academy London, 165A Mermaid Court, SE1 1HR £105.00Draw for a day at the V&A! The course is designed to enable students to express a creative response to museum artworks, as well as develop an understanding of how artworks are put together to create particular impressions upon the viewer. The course will start by exploring the Cast Courts at the V&A after which students will have the opportunity to draw from the collection. There will be a further tour in the afternoon and the day will conclude with a final review of the drawings made.
This course is ideal for students with some drawing experience who would like to try drawing in a gallery/ museum environment.

This course focuses on the importance of perspective and spatial perception as the basis of realism, helping you develop and learn the laws of geometry to create form, dimension, distance and space within your works.
With a focus on producing quick freehand sketches of buildings, rooms, furniture, and stairs, using plans, elevation, and axonometric drawings, master both one and two-point perspective techniques. This course is suitable for all levels, those experienced artists who are looking to strengthen their fundamentals of drawing, as well as beginners.
