Mercedes Balle is a mixed media artist whose work studies the connection and disconnection with the natural world. With a background in oil painting, she considers herself now a painter without paint. Mercedes practice combines construction materials with biodegradable materials and explores the passage of time and the contrasting temporalities of living beings to the material world we have built around us. 

Mercedes is currently doing an MFA in Sculpture at The Slade and graduated at Art Academy London in 2020. She exhibits regularly and tutors at the Art Academy. In 2024 she’ll be doing her first solo exhibition at Stone Space, London while participating in ‘Prender la mirada’ an exhibition at Casal Solleric, Mallorca. Born and raised in Mallorca, Mercedes is currently living and working while studying in London.
