Here at the Art Academy we take your privacy very seriously. We never pass your details onto anyone else and only contact you with information we think may be of interest to you.
Below you will find information on what personal data of yours we store, why we collect it and how we use it.
How do we collect your data?
We collect your data when you use our website to make a donation or register to receive our newsletter. We will collect your data when you book onto a short course with us, whether this is in person at the office, over the phone, or on our website. We also collect your data if you register an interest in one of our academic courses, attend an open day, attend an interview or accept a place and become an academic student with us.
What data is being collected?
If you book a course with us the data we collect will include personal information such as your name, gender, DOB, postal address, email address, and information on previous courses you have studied with us. If you make a donation or register to receive our newsletter we will collect only your email address.
How do we use your data?
If you register to receive our newsletter you will receive our monthly newsletter detailing new courses coming up, exciting Academy news and offers, prizes or competitions that may be of interest to you. If you no longer what to receive our newsletter you can unsubscribe and we will remove your data from our database.
If you make a donation to us you may receive emails from our Principal detailing what your donation is being used towards or invitations to events we think may be of interest to you E.g. our Graduate Show Private View. You will receive, on average, no more than 6 emails a year. If you do not want to be contacted you can email info@artacademy.org.uk requesting that you receive no emails and that your data is not stored.
Collecting data such as postal addresses, DOB and gender from our students helps us better understand who our students are and how they interact with us. This will help us enhance or modify our services and communications with you and others. It is contractually necessary that we hold this data while you study with us.
If you study an academic course with us (this includes a BA Fine Art, a Foundation Degree, a Fine Art Foundation or the Certificate) we will store your data for six years from Graduation. If you study a short course with us we will hold your information for 3.5 years. This length of time allows us to see changing trends in our customer base.
