From Life Drawing to Print

COURSE CODE: WC2502009

COURSE DATES: Saturday & Sunday, 24th – 25th January 2026

TUTOR: Annabel MacIver

DAYS: 2

TIMES: 10:00am – 4:30pm

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Ages 18+, All Levels

FEE: £170

LOCATION: Bankside Campus, 185 Park Street, SE1 9BL

This is an exciting 2-day course that explores the combination of life drawing and printmaking together. We will start both days in the drawing studio, creating a series of quick and longer posed drawings working with a life model. We will then translate our works to printmaking in our print studio. You will have the opportunity to try both monoprinting and drypoint etching techniques, and understand the possibilities of both. The course will build up your skills in both drawing and printmaking, allowing you to experiment in painterly and line-based approaches, focusing on figure, line and texture.

Once you have completed the course we recommend signing up to one of our evening or weekend Printmaking or Drawing courses to further develop your skills.

ANNABEL MACIVER

Annabel’s interest in the object informs much of her work: objects hold memories and with these memories, emotions. She explores meaning through the combined use of different media, bringing them together to create a complex discussion. She continually experiments with the qualities each medium possesses to bear down on the essence of what she wants to convey. Annabel is regularly involved in exhibitions within the UK.  Her work is held in private collections in the UK and abroad.
