Students will be introduced to a range of techniques and will spend the morning exploring the properties of both and making a series of colour studies. In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity of making a larger work, creating their own composition and working in watercolours, inks or a combination of the two to paint their own still life incorporating plants and objects. Laura is an experienced tutor and has been working professionally with inks and watercolours for over a decade, she is a passionate advocate for the two mediums. The session is open to both complete beginners and more experienced artists alike and will be relaxed and friendly. Laura believes in taking an exploratory approach to teaching and will support students to test out the medium and to uncover their creative voice.

All attendees must be aged 18 and over.
Choose a Beginners course if you are looking for a broad introduction to the medium you are studying. Students spend time learning the very basics of the taught medium, for example, how to mix colours, use different tools, set up an easel. Our Beginner courses are suitable for students with no prior experience, they tend to follow a more structured path than our other courses, ensuring each student receives the guidance they need from the tutor.Beginner
