A fun and inspiring five day course for ages 12-14 providing a skills based experience and expert tuition in animation. You will be taught skills in stop motion, 2D drawing for animation and the use of Adobe Creative Suite as an animation tool. The course will be fun and fast-paced, and will culminate in a screening of your work to peers and parents. The days will be themed and split into half with the mornings focusing on skills development and the afternoons focusing on making an animation using the skills you have learnt in response to a given theme. You will be encouraged to work in groups and on your own and to challenge and respond to ideas and new skills in an enjoyable and creative space.

This course is suitable for students between the ages of 12 to 14 and is open to all skill levels.Young Artist 12-14
Students are advised to bring a Sketchbook, pencils, eraser and black and white pens that they are comfortable to work with, A4 paper folder, and a USB memory stick with them to backup their work. Though there will be the possibility of storing files on the computers, we cannot take responsibility for the safekeeping of these files.
Dann Parry is an award-winning animator, filmmaker, and artist based in London. They have studied Animation at the renowned UCA Farnham and went on to graduate from the prestigious Royal College of Art. Dann’s work often explores mental health, sexuality, and queer themes through film whilst drawing inspiration from German Expressionism and gothic fiction. They have worked with clients such as Channel 4 and Universal Music, and their work has screened in festivals around the globe.

Bankside Campus
Students are welcome to use The Hub during break times, where you can prepare hot drinks and/or food. You must bring your own keep-cup, water bottle or food container to the Academy as mugs, glasses, and containers will not be available in our Bankside campus.
Tea and coffee will be provided by the Academy and is available from the island unit at the end of The Hub.
