Jess is a painter and printmaker who is primarily concerned with themes of marginalised identity and representation. Prior to completing her degree in Contemporary Portraiture at Art Academy London, she studied Politics and Community Development. Her art practice is socially informed and wholly influenced by her own identity.
Her works have been shown across London, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Show.
Lynne Abrahamson studied Fine Art in Barcelona before coming to London where she did a Certificate in Sculpture at the City of London Polytechnic and then went to Central St.Martins. She did the Diploma at The Art Academy, where she qualified in 2011 with a first. During her time at the Academy, she began to use ceramics and textiles and has gone on to specialize in textiles and embroidery within her mixed media art practice. Her work is a personal narrative about her experiences as a mother and themes such as separation, loss and change relating to the various stages in her life. Her work is quirky and she aims to deal with serious issues in a light-hearted way. She has taken part in the Craft fair at Hatfield House, has exhibited in the Menier Chocolate Factory, has works in private collections as well as in Clontarf Castle and has had work shortlisted on Saatchi online . She was winner of the Wolfendale Prize for natural forms. Lynne is currently working on a number of projects; internal landscapes using thread as her medium and soft sculptures combining fabric, steel and felt.
