DROP-IN SESSIONS
All drop-in sessions must be booked via our Eventbrite page.
Please note that bookings made through Eventbrite are non-refundable. It is only possible to transfer bookings from one event to another up to 7 days prior to the start of the booked event. Additionally, providing there is space on the day it will still be possible to pay by card (Visa, Mastercard) in the reception shortly before the lesson; we do however recommend booking through Eventbrite in order to guarantee a place.

General Information:
Our print drop-in sessions will give you the opportunity to further develop your own projects at your own pace. These are self-led sessions where you are able to use our print studio. One of the Art Academy Print Associates will be on hand to offer support and advice.
Who can book Printmaking drop-in sessions?
Open Access sessions are for printmakers who have experience of the print room and want to develop their practice at their own pace. To make sure you can safely use the facilities, we request that you have completed at least one evening or weekend printmaking course with us. This excludes One Day Taster Days and Mix courses (ie. Monday Mix).
What materials will you need?
You must purchase your own materials. Art Academy provides tools, presses and etching sundries in the Print Studio and there is availability for you to purchase individual paper and plates (card payments only). You can choose to supply your own inks and extender or pay a service fee of £10 per session to access the available inks stocked by Art Academy.

Please ensure you book your Print Open Access session at least 24 hours in advance. A minimum of two paid bookings is required for the session to run; if this threshold is not met, we may need to cancel the session with 24 hours’ notice.

Our Life Drawing & Painting sessions are relaxed and enjoyable classes with a life model for various poses lasting between one and four weeks at a time. Students will be able to approach the human figure in any way they please and do as many drawings or paintings as they care to pursue with as much or as little instruction as they like. Your experienced tutors will happily guide both beginners and the more experienced painters. Students should feel free to use whichever materials that they enjoy the most, whether that is drawing in charcoal or ink or painting in oils or acrylics. All paper is provided for the course but please bring your own drawing/painting materials.
Who can book an Open Life session?
Your experienced tutor will happily guide both beginners as well as those who are more experienced.

£15 1.5 hour session (includes paper).

Looking for some inspiration and clarity to switch up your approach? Or are you just in need for some space to create? Our Sunday Painting Workshops are just what you’ve been looking for. These are practical and self-led sessions which will raise your art to the next level. The course is designed to provide you with the opportunity to immerse yourself in your own work whilst gaining valuable insight to help grow and push your practice.
With the guidance from our tutor you can work on ongoing projects, bring new references or create something new!
Who can book a Sunday Painting Workshop session?
Your experienced tutor will happily guide both beginners as well as those who are more experienced.
What materials will you need?
Cartridge paper is provided for the course but please bring your own painting materials. Students should feel free to use whichever materials they enjoy the most, but please be aware that the Academy is a white spirit and turpentine free environment and only odourless spirits, such as Zest-it or Sansodor, are permitted on the premises. These can also be recycled on site. If you are using oil paints you must bring 1 small jar with a lid to hold your solvent as this should be reused each week.
How much do they cost?
£30 per 2.5 hour session (includes paper).
