Anatomical knowledge is essential in correctly creating expressive figures in sculpture, drawing and painting. This course will teach artists the essential proportions of the human body as well as the main muscles masses of Artistic Anatomy. Through verbal instruction, handouts and diagrams, guidance will be given to sculpt a flayed figure or ‘Ecorché’ in oil based clay. Half of the figure will remain a skeleton, whilst the other half will slowly be built up, sculpting muscle by muscle to represent a flayed human figure.
